I was working on the Arsenio Hall Show when southern California suffered the devastating Northridge Earthquake in 1994. A lot of the crew members were unable to make it into work, even if they had survived the quake, due to road closures and damaged homes. Ever thoughtful, Arsenio decided to shut down production for a week and pay everyone’s salary in the meantime. He was sensitive to the fact that many of his crew needed to put their lives and homes back together. He was also very generous in the bonus department, handing out weekly monetary appreciation. Without a doubt, Arsenio is the most generous boss I have ever worked for.
