The Vampire Diaries is the most difficult show I have ever worked on. It’s so physically demanding with a tremendous amount of running, hustling, schlepping, setting up and breaking down, and moving heavy crates containing the actors’ bags, backup supplies and so on. I would get so exhausted that I would need the entire weekend to recuperate. Nina always knew exactly what I needed. To show her appreciation, sweet Nina got me a gift certificate for my birthday. I mean one so huge in value that it may last forever and ever. This consideration for my hard work and generosity of the highest degree makes me feel really valued and makes all the hard work well worthwhile.
But Nina often showers those around her with amazingly thoughtful and generous gifts. And not just any old trinkets and baubles. She actually takes time to consider what someone is really going to enjoy and appreciate. In my case, she knows I have a predilection for baggy, stylish shirts, and brings me one every chance she gets. Thanks to Nina, I am well dressed and in my fashion comfort zone while schlepping that equipment. And her good taste means I am reminded of her kindness frequently when I received compliments.
